Let us build a Catholic Common

A town common served as a shared space for the community, fostering social interaction and cooperation among residents. It often functioned as a gathering place for various activities, including markets, festivals, and public meetings, where townsfolk could come together to discuss important issues or celebrate local traditions.

Additionally, the common space was typically used for communal grazing of livestock, allowing farmers to share resources and support one another. It often featured amenities such as a well or a pond, which provided water for both people and animals.

The common was not just a physical space; it represented the heart of community life, reinforcing social bonds and a sense of belonging among townspeople. Through shared experiences and resources, the common contributed to a cooperative spirit essential for the town’s prosperity and cohesion.

The internet is like an infinite piece of land. Let us claim a piece of it and build a Catholic Common.

The Catholic Common will seek to prosper the City of God by cultivating a digital space where Catholics and Catholic organizations can share ideas, resources, and information to strengthen our spiritual bond.

WhY The “Catholic Common”?

Who is behind The Catholic Common?

My name is Troy Norman and I am the person behind the Catholic Common. For my whole life I have felt like I have never belonged to any one group, and I have always enjoyed getting to know different people. My desire has been to connect people, but with an emphasis on corporeal rather than digital. So, The Catholic Common is not intended to be a social platform, but rather a giant parish bulletin, if you will, telling you about the different things you can go and do to connect with other Catholics and, hopefully, grow deeper in your relationship with Jesus Christ as a result. It is my desire to invest the talents God has given me and, hopefully, to double what he gave me.
